Join 10-15 other Christians interested in effective altruism for a full-expenses paid weekend on a farm in Maryland, just outside Washington DC.

We have more room for friends of yours, so consider inviting an EA-interested Christian friend! Also feel free to share any suggestions for the retreat, especially if you know of good day-trip ideas for Sunday.

3. Plan your transport (Washington D.C.)

The venue is in Middletown, MD , about 1.5-2 hour drive from Washington D.C.

I can pick you up if you're taking the train from Union, or the airport, if you let me know in advance!

I have a bed for each of you!

  • The EA for Christians Community (EACH) is consists of several hundred Christians around the world who care a lot about effective altruism, radical generosity, and effective giving.

    In addition to our conference, every year in the US and UK we host smaller, regional retreats of about 8-20 people. The purpose is to build deeper friendships with like-minded followers of Jesus.

    The activities involve:

    • Lightning talks

    • Delicious meals

    • Campfire

    • Morning prayer

    • Anyone who identifies as a Christian who has spent 5+ hours engaging with effective altruism ideas (e.g. reading the EACH website, Doing Good Better, etc.)

  • Anything you would normally bring for a 2-day vacation! One pair of outdoor clothing is recommended.

  • We cover the cost of the retreat! Just get yourself there (let JD know if you need help carpooling)

  • To keep a strong morale and the atmosphere, we ask that you at least come for the entire day on Saturday (from morning until evening)
